quiet pub
We have long wanted to visit the Pembury Tavern, and we got round to it last night. We tried some nice beers, and I had a ploughmans with some interesting cheeses. Then we tried a game of pool, and then spotting their list of board games to borrow, we had a go at Carcassone.
As well as the interesting games, it's an unusual pub - no smoking, no music, fairly spartan decoration. This is partly because it's new, maybe it will fill out a bit in time. Anyway, I like being able to have a quiet drink.
Hopefully we'll go back there, or I'll drag some of you along. It is just round the corner from Hackney Downs station, which was quite convenient for us to get the train home, and there are frequent trains between there and Liverpool Street.
