Sorry to see you go... Will you have an RSS feed that I can syndicate into LJ?

Ditto sbisson's comment, really - if you have a feed, I'll add it here, but I'm unlikely to be joining you over there.

I'm also with J.

It makes me sad to not see your journal anymore but I'm all permanent here.

Ditto to jarel's comment, really. What's IJ got that makes it worth moving?

It's not run by people who appear to want us to leave. Or, even if they do, they're a different bunch of people who want us to leave and show it in different ways. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm not leaving LJ myself, but I'm increasingly tempted to put less and less content on LJ and more elsewhere. I too will follow an RSS feed as soon as it is available and, should more than a couple of my other Friends move across, will probably join IJ for Friends-locked content.

It's more that I'm not happy with how LJ is being run now, which makes me not want to support it any more. (The astute readers may have noticed I stopped having a paid account a couple of months ago).

Added to my RSS reader, which means I'll see the public posts only, I guess. You are now the second person I know of to switch to InsaneJournal, but everyone else I know is still here, so I likely won't be signing up for another journal place unless there's some critical mass over there.

Plus, I have a permanent account here, and it would be a shame to throw that away.

Two easy ways to find it for any page in general:

1. If you're using Firefox, pages with an RSS feed will have a little orange icon in the address bar on the right. Click that.

2. If you're using something else, view the source of the page, and look for something near the top that looks like this:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS" href="http://jaq.insanejournal.com/data/rss" />

I have followed your example and used OpenID authentication to declare new-jaq and new-theora to be my Friends. (Does this mean they can use their IJ account to read my Friends-locked content, or would they have to use their old LJ accounts?)

Grief, but IJ is astonishingly ugly. I would prefer exceptionally bland aesthetics to the ones in use.

Neither. For us to see your friends-locked content on LJ, you need to friend our OpenID accounts over here.

IJ has a number of site schemes. I've chosen one I like better than any of the current LJ site schemes (but then I'm an old-school dystopia user). You can't escape the crazy user icon thing, though.

The information given here about migrating old posts to IJ and double-posting with Semagic may interest you.
